Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by the team of MultiPeak Adventure and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After check-in, a detailed trek briefing will be provided covering the route, safety measures, accommodation, meals, and altitude-related information. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore nearby areas.

After breakfast, travel to Pokhara by tourist bus or domestic flight while enjoying beautiful views of rivers, hills, and rural landscapes. Pokhara is a scenic lakeside city and the gateway to the Annapurna region. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the evening strolling around Phewa Lake.

Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul and begin the trek along the Modi Khola, passing through small villages, farmland, and suspension bridges. The walk is gradual and ideal for adjusting to the trekking rhythm. You will reach Tikhedhunga by late afternoon and rest for the night.

Today involves a steady uphill climb, including the famous stone steps to Ulleri village. The trail continues through dense rhododendron and oak forests, offering fresh mountain air and scenic views. Ghorepani is a popular stop with excellent mountain surroundings.

Early in the morning, hike to Poon Hill to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After returning for breakfast, trek through beautiful forests to Tadapani, enjoying peaceful trails and occasional mountain views.

The trek descends through lush forests and traditional villages, crossing suspension bridges before reaching Chhomrong, a large Gurung village. From here, excellent views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre can be seen.

After descending to the Chhomrong Khola, the trail gradually ascends through dense bamboo and rhododendron forests. The environment becomes quieter and more alpine as you approach Bamboo, a small settlement surrounded by forested hills.

The trail continues through Dovan and Himalaya Hotel, with increasing altitude and changing landscapes. The forest gradually opens into alpine terrain, and the air becomes cooler. Care is taken to walk slowly to help with acclimatization.

Today’s walk follows a glacial valley with dramatic mountain scenery all around. As you gain altitude, vegetation becomes sparse, and the views of Machhapuchhre grow closer and more impressive. You will reach MBC by afternoon.

This is the most rewarding day of the trek as you reach Annapurna Base Camp. The short walk offers incredible 360-degree views of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and surrounding peaks. Spend time enjoying the scenery before resting overnight at base camp.

After enjoying sunrise at base camp, descend along the same trail. Walking downhill is easier, and you will notice the landscape changing as you lose altitude. Overnight stay at Bamboo.

Continue descending to Jhinu Danda, a peaceful village known for its natural hot springs. In the afternoon, you may visit the hot springs to relax your muscles after several days of trekking.

The final trekking day involves a pleasant walk to Nayapul through villages and terraced fields. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara and enjoy a comfortable hotel stay.

Here is a list of what you might want to pack for the hike. Please take this as a starting point. You’ll need layers of warmer clothing during the winter. We provide a 75 liter duffel bag for you to use for the trek. It will be given to you during your pre-trip meeting in Kathmandu. The duffle bag is yours to keep. Also, you can rent sleeping bag and down jacket with us at the additional fee of USD 35 for each once you are in Kathmandu.

FAQ's

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is considered a moderate trek. It does not require technical climbing skills, but good physical fitness is needed due to daily walks of 5–7 hours, stone staircases, and gradual altitude gain.

The highest point of the trek is Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters (13,550 feet).

This itinerary is designed for 14 days, including arrival, departure, travel days, and sufficient acclimatization for safety and comfort.

Accommodation includes hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara and tea houses during the trek. Tea houses are basic but comfortable, with shared rooms and common dining areas.

Previous trekking experience is helpful but not mandatory. Anyone with good fitness, a positive attitude, and proper preparation can complete the trek.
