Overview

The Mesokanto La Pass Trek is a challenging and adventurous Himalayan journey that combines the classic trails of the Annapurna Circuit with a remote high pass crossing and one of the world’s highest alpine lakes, Tilicho Lake (4,919m). Organized professionally by Multi Peak Expedition, this 13-day itinerary is designed for trekkers seeking raw wilderness, dramatic landscapes, and true off-the-beaten-path adventure.

The journey begins from Kathmandu with a scenic drive to Dharapani, gradually ascending through Chame, Pisang, and Manang. Along the way, trekkers experience a remarkable transition from lush river valleys and pine forests to alpine meadows and high-altitude desert terrain. An acclimatization day in Manang includes a hike to Gangapurna Lake and local monasteries, ensuring proper altitude adjustment before heading higher.

The highlight of the trek is the crossing of Mesokanto La (5,099m). This demanding pass involves glacier walking, rocky moraine, and snow sections, rewarding trekkers with breathtaking panoramic views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and the vast Kali Gandaki valley. The adventure concludes in Jomsom, followed by a scenic flight or drive to Pokhara and Kathmandu. This trek is ideal for experienced trekkers who want both high-altitude challenge and unforgettable Himalayan scenery.
